History

The Massey Archery Club (MAC) was founded in 1971 originally operating on private land. In 1977 the club purchased land in Redhills Road Massey. Great club spirit helped us develop from the original "wooden shed" club house to the stage where we had a large converted house erected for the use of club members. This was the scene of many fund raising activities aimed at making the club debt free.

In 1987 the club suffered a major setback in the form of a fire that destroyed the club house. This tested the club members’ resolve but the end result was the constuction of the present facilities, proudly named the Redhills Lodge. The club has grown and developed to the stage where the current land and buildings are now well established.

The club is proud of its history, not only in terms of facilities but also in terms of its members archery achievements over the years. The complete honours board can be found on the Achievements page.
